  1. What are you chowing down on today?

    Breakfast -- coffee and honeybun

Lunch -- cottage cheese & peaches for me, kiddos had ravaloi

Supper -- not a clue yet

What are you doing? school, general picking up after the weekend, trying to go thru and toss stuff

Do you have any flowers blooming in your garden to get ready for May? Have 1 big rose bush that is full of blooms.

  2. I never go anywhere without a book, one never knows when there will be even just 15 min or so to get some reading in.

    :iagree:

One day I was sitting at the ball park during ds practice and had laid my book down for a minute. One of the mom's walked by and made some snotty comment about me reading. Hello what business is it of yours?

  3. Put anything small and/or worth more near you.

    Have plenty of change

Neater setup usually means more sales

Be willing to make a deal

Have an extention cord or place to plug in items -- people like to check items

Be honest about the items -- if it works part time, say so etc.

Smile and try to say "hi" to everyone

At the end of the sale make box deals --- all the books for a set price etc.

  4. Getting rid of the actual curriculum material has been more difficult. I cried when I purged my shelves of all the junvenile books I knew we would never take off the shelf anymore. I kept only some of the absolute favorites and they are in a box in the attic. I donated all the curriculum to a homeschool store that sponsored some families in need. I gave all the other books to Good Will.

I have slowly been doing this too. I have been boxing it up and posting what I have on our hs message board. If anyone is interested they can have it. I will either take it to the next get together or they can stop by and pick it up.

  5. The "quiet walkway" hikes just off the roads are very nice. They usually run beside a waterway and aren't very strenuous. Abram's Falls is fabulous. It is quite a hike to get to it. (Of course, I was very pg when we did it...) It is a busy trail. The Blonde Giraffe for frozen key lime pie dipped in chocolate on a stick (to die for!) Log Cabin Pancake House: peanut butter/chocolate chip pancakes!!! Along with everything else already mentioned. There is also a place called Parrot Mountain right behind Dollywood. Haven't been, but will be going soon. (Lots of birds). Oh yeah, make sure to visit the Sugarlands Visitor Center. It has a museum area with stuffed (real) animals and preserved plants all for free.

I think this is the pancake place we went too. YUM-O

  6. Breakfast? coffee

    Lunch? pizza and chicken strips

Dinner? not a clue, oh wait my mom said she was going to bring us some ham slices for sandwiches

What are you doing today? Got up and started cleaning. Today is ds birthday. We don't do a party but grandparents will be over in a little while for cake and presents. So had to get the house looking good. :D After cake & presents it is off to ball practice.

What are you doing this weekend? Baseball jamboree and cleaning out junk. I have been working so hard this week and got things looking better except for a HUGE pile of totes & junk I need to sort though. I want to get it done.

Any questions you can ask us? What is your favorite sport?

I love baseball and especially St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Today is opening day for them!!!

Jean -- Election party sounds fun

Eternalknot -- hope you are feeling better

MamaAkins -- you have a BUSY weekend!!

Question for the crowd: WHERE THE HECK IS TEXAS?

    Midwest? South? Southwest?

It seems every reference puts it in a different region, and I'm confused. I told my kids it's just its own place - state, region, everything LOL.

Yep Texa is it's own place ;)

Any questions you can ask us?

??? My brain is too overloaded to think of any questions right now!

    I know that feeling

Any questions you can ask us?

How did the kids overheat the vacuum? I've had it 6 years and never had trouble with it, but the girls vacuum and suddenly it gives up.

It is something only kids can do ;)

  7. Breakfast? Peanut butter on toast

    Lunch? no clue

Dinner? probably the rice I didn't fix yesterday

    What are you doing today?

    school, more cleaning/rearranging, ball practice

Today's burning question: Do you do standardized testing? And if so, when do you do it? And what test do you use?

No, our state doesn't require it.
