Well, here comes another scorcher of a week for us. I had thought to take this week off of school, but as there's nothing else to do that wouldn't involve us melting, I think we'll hold off and take of the next week. Today's goals: House: chores, a little cleaning Gardens: watering, all the watering Cooking: leftovers School: schedules Writing: last day of reading through the manuscript (and I still see changes I want to work on, but not this round), journal, preparing for word rake stuff all next week for this manuscript. Waiting on some other things, getting ready for a big writing month in September hopefully.

Morning. Kitten is romping around the house this morning, which is funny because she's in a permanent state of fuzz. But she seems to be enjoying herself. The foundling kittens should be cleared to start interacting with the cat household next weekend. That could be interesting. But they need to get used to seeing other cats, dogs, and seeing everything that they can get into in a house. I need to clean and kitten proof this week, then. Other than that, trying not to melt. It's getting horribly hot next week, and I'm so ready for fall I could put out a scarecrow, a couple of ghosts, and a few fake pumpkins just to try to hurry it along. -

Morning! It's still overcast, and I'm hoping for a little more rain before they turn the sauna back on. Today's goals: REST. I got to the end of my major revision chapters and realized I was completely worn out. I did nothing but lie on the couch last night after dinner--my head was just empty. So I'm taking off from writing the next two to three days--just reading and relaxing. House: chores Gardens: water containers Cooking: leftovers, although I might just go ahead and make the roast for tomorrow tonight if I want to. School: usual. Planned break last week of August and first of Septembere. Writing: no writing, only reading. Sent a slightly scary email this morning. Other than that, trying to do nothing but play and enjoy my work. Art: I should have time to get the paint out today! -

I'm doing some stuff today, but I finished some heavy duty revisions yesterday, and realized I am completely exhausted. So I'm taking the next three days to just read and make sure that the story flows together well before I dive into line editing next week. And there might even be a nap or a hot soaky bath later today. -

Edpo: I am reminded that I need to put down an order for a few books in the next week. Not many, because I have almost everything, but I do need a few. -

I was thinking about this the other day--how I'm struggling to feel anything but anger and sadness lately. I think it's that there is so, so much, and for whatever reason, I think I've tried to train myself to be strong for everybody, and that's not working now because I am literally stuffed full of un-processed emotions like a closet that hasn't been cleaned out for years. In this case, two years at least. So I second letting it out. I cried about Susan's DH, too. And it helped. -

Yay for repaired refrigerator! Today brought some much needed rain. As much as I'd kind of like to sit and stare at it, I do have stuff to do. Goals: House: chores Cooking: chicken noodle soup, cauliflower, skillet apple pie Garden: don't need to water, yay! School: usual Writing: three more chapters that needed heavier than average revisions. That should do it. Work out schedule for line edits next week. Do big scary thing. Journal. Art: paint on the clematis picture that I've got ready to go--but need to pick the colors for and assemble the tray -

Morning. It's not quite as horrible as far as heat today, so we plan to go to the lake. Today's goals (other than lake) House: chores Gardens: watering Cooking: grilling burgers tonight School: none Writing: continue rewrite section today--aiming to be done by Wednesday with that part, continue revisions through midpoint and be done with that by Wednesday. After that, it should be fairly quick through to the end which I've already revised. Then we'll read on Thursday and Friday and see how well I did pulling everything together. -

It would! But it's like washing your car. The moment you do it, it starts raining. I am sorely disappointed the magic didn't work this time! -

I was supposed to take off next week, but I think I'll change that for the last week in August. If the weather moderates and we get some rain later this week, the last week might be a good week to make a river trip. -

I don't know if it will work on Gaba, but I recently had to give the two bone children cats metronidazole liquid for 10 days. That stuff is about as bad as it gets. The flavor we have is butternut. I don't know why that works so well, but it went down them very well without a lot of fighting. -

I have not tried mixing Gaba with wet food. I would ask, and see about flavoring to make it mix better. Very sad about Neko. I lost my Cluny to cancer earlier this year. -

Morning. Last day of the week, and I'm feeling like I need a few extra days myself. Today's goals: House: chores, wash linens Cooking: probably do breakfast for dinner Gardens: all the watering School: usual Writing: continued rewriting the trouble section (making slow progress) and revising through the MS for content and clarity. Plan is to get through it all by this time next week so I can spend the week after that doing line edit stuff. Journal. Reading. Only extra stuff today is ice deployment. But they say it could be cooler weather soon. -

I'm ready for cooler weather and rain. It's so hot and dry and everything is so crispy. I'm enjoying taking a little time each morning to write out my daily schedule, but will be so happy when I can take watering off the list. -

Has he had hip radiographs? They might show he has dysplasia. It's not looked for in cats as often as it should be. I've had two cats with hip pain. One of them was from a vertebral fracture in her kittenhood that caused her hips to more or less drop. The other was likely dysplasia.
