Amino acids. 5HTP, GABA and L-Tyrosine are all pre-cursors to important neurotransmitters.
I also second the omega-3 recommendation.

Thanks so much! That was exactly what I needed! :)

So I am trying to dot my i's and cross my t's since this is my first year homeschooling under a Private School Affidavit. The California Homeschool Network recommends keeping a file with certain legal documents, one of which is "the course of study offered by the institution." I'm not exactly sure what type of document this is supposed to be. Ideas, please?
Thank you!

Put the sheets inside a plastic sleeve and use a wet-erase marker? Make a little notebook of such sheets for her.
Ask your dd to color each page before she does the next dot-to-dot?
Ask her to make her own dot-to-dot by "tracing" a page of a coloring book? You could help her number the dots.

I just wanted to pop in to lend my support as well.
You are definitely not imagining his behavior. Usually an OT relies quite a bit on parental descriptions for a diagnosis. I had to fill out a ten-page questionnaire for ds' evaluation. And just because the "pros" and specialists may not have a specific diagnosis for you, it doesn't mean that you aren't on the right track in putting the pieces of his particular puzzle together.
Ds has seen an OT, a neuropsychologist, a speech and language therapist, two developmental optometrists, and a pediatric neurologist. Not one of those specialists is even close to understanding the full range of ds' learning issues, although they are all helping me to figure out some of his specific needs.
The whole evaluation process is pretty overwhelming. Hang in there. :grouphug:

You only need a 1/2 cup? Man, I need at least 32 oz. throughout the day to keep me in my happy place. :lol
Also a high protein breakfast, amino acids (neurotransmitter precursors), maca powder, vitamins B complex and D...
And I think plenty of rest would help too, but I've forgotten what that feels like. :001_huh:

It was up to 107° here. I can't complain. One summer, it hit 112°, and we had no air conditioning. I was eight months pregnant and ready to kill. My poor husband had to attack someone for the last a/c unit at Home Depot.
We have central air now. :D
