  1. :lurk5: I don't have any suggestions, but I'm curious about this too. I'd love to see other's suggestions!
  2. Do you know of any online or computer based lessons for K-2nd grade that is not too expensive? My girls have loved Reading Eggs, but our free trial is over and I don't want to pay that much for it. I'd like something that progresses through lessons and tracks and saves their progress. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
  3. Thanks, that was my initial reaction! Married 10 years and still learning to cook! HA!
  4. They are stone ground yellow corn tortillas. Only ingredients are stone ground corn, water, and trace of lime. As you can see, I don't have any experience with this! :)
  5. If you are willing to, I'd like to try it. I can pay you for shipping cost.
  6. Yes, a sample would be nice! At what point in Rightstart do they get to memorizing facts? We just started with book A, but I'm wondering if that is done more in the later books.
  7. Thinking about trying this for a supplement. This has the math facts set to classical music for memorization. Has anyone ever used it? Opinions? http://www.veritaspress.com/prodinfo.asp?number=527202 As a side note... Do you have your kids memorize addition and subtraction facts, or do you just start with memorizing multiplication? What methods do you use to help when memorizing? thanks!
  8. Thanks for the heads up! There are a few things I've had my eye on for a long time. I haven't been able to find it used, so I may order before the end of the month. I'll be sure to call it in. Thanks for letting me know about that. It will save me a headache! :)
  9. If anyone is planning to purchase from Veritas Press, you can get $ towards your purchase (up to 30% of the cost, Expires 3/31/12). All you have to do is enter your email address, and they will credit you $5. Then they will give you a unique link to share, and for every person that clicks and enters their email address you will receive $5 more. I shared it with the grandparents, aunts, etc. I didn't see this posted anywhere on here, and thought it might help some out! Also, I contacted Veritas Press firsthand, and they confirmed that this is a valid promotion they are indeed running. Here is my link below. If you sign up here, we will both get the $5 credit. http://www.veritaspress.com/launchrock.html?lrRef=2dQpm I hope this is okay to post here! If not, please let me know, and I will remove it!
  10. I've decided to overview American history for my kids next year (K and 2nd). What advantages do you see to using MFW over just putting something together myself? I've never used MFW, just looked at online samples. I have most, if not all of the bookes in their pack, just not the MFW specific items like the guide, etc. I'm a major tweaker, so I'm afraid I might spend the money and then do my own thing anyway. Is the program really worth it? Would you convince me 8 need it? Do you like the student pages? My kids are hands-on and crafts type... I already have a few ideas of what I want to do... Just wondering if MFW would tie it together. Also, I moved away from HOD because I didn't like their cycle of Beyond and bigger with a year of amer. history chronologically followed by a year biographical history. So, how does MFW compare to HOD? Thanks for input on this!
  11. Thanks for these ideas! I'm definitely going to check them out!
  12. Does anyone have any recommendations for hands-on activities for American History Overview for younger kids. My kids love crafty things and doing something while I read to them. I've heard about Lap books. Where do you buy them? Is there anything else out there I should know about? I need some resources that are ready to use. I don't have time to do a lot of prep work! If you know of resources for other topics besides American history, those ideas are appreciated too! Thanks!
  13. Thank you! I've heard good things about both, but wasn't sure about the differences.
  14. Do the old Classical Conversations memory work CD's have the same songs as the Veritas Press history flashcard songs?
  15. From what I can tell there is not a timeline used with TOG. Am I wrong about this? Have you found one that works well along with TOG?
  16. Truth Chasers used to be called Mailbox Club, and it's free. Not sure if it's the same one, but we like it. You can sign up online.
  17. Does anyone use any Ipod touch apps to help you stay organized (especially for homeschooling or housekeeping)? I just got one for Christmas, and I'm trying to figure out if I can leave the old pen and paper method of calendar, to-do lists, meals, lesson plans, etc. Thanks!
  18. I know, last minute! I need gift ideas for my nieces 9 and 11, and my nephew 13. What is something educational or useful I could get them and they would enjoy? It doesn't have to cost a lot of money. Thanks in advance!
  19. It is comb bound green/white. I bought this used, but it was supposedly never used before. It has in this order... Addition Facts Sheet Systematic Review 6E Systematic Review 6F Lesson Practice 8C Lesson Practice 8D Lesson Practice 8E Lesson Practice 8F Then continues with A-F of the rest (9-30) A - 1 A - 2 B - 1 B - 2 B - 3 B - 4 It looks like I am missing most of the 1-7 pages. Is this correct? Thanks for your help!
  20. Thanks ladies. I'll have to check with my Babies R Us store! I found one in my OB office as well, but they only had one. I also subscribed for the free ones. I just need to patiently wait for my first issue to arrive! What a great deal mommyoftwinsboys! I just love getting deals like that! :)
  21. I'm looking for some diaper coupon codes that have been in some magazines recently and thought some of you ladies might be able to help! They are for Amazon diapers and are on a green pull out card in the middle of the magazine. Some are 20% and some are $10. If you happen to have any of these you are not going to use, I'd love to use them for you :001_smile:. We just brought home the new baby and would love to save some money! The magazines are: Baby Talk, American Baby, Parents, Parenting the Early Years, Pregnancy and Newborn, Fit Pregnancy... some Feb/March/April issues Thanks in advance!
