Innisfree
Anyone know where I might find this? I'm not having much luck. I want: Synchronous (live) classes English lit class and, separately, American lit class Good, engaging teacher Significant writing component with good teacher feedback: preferably not a workshop model with primarily student feedback Basically I'd like to find the good English classes I had in high school, lol. I want them to cover most of the material in a high-school level anthology, read several significant full-length works and discuss them in depth, and end up with a good basic knowledge of the canon. I'd like to have one year like this for American lit and one year for English lit. And, a related but slightly different question: way back in the early eighties when I was in high school, we had four years of classes like I've just described. We had no class labeled AP English. But after four years of good English classes, many of us took the AP and did very well. I got a five. Is that no longer a realistic path? Has the test changed enough that a dedicated class is really necessary? Because dd has two more years of high school, and I'd like to have her spend them getting the sort of detailed familiarity with literature that I described. When I look at AP classes they look fine, but they don't accomplish that objective. Any thoughts? 3andme
No experience with any of these but they seem to meet your criteria: CLRC, Scholars Online, Potters School, Big River Academy, Aim Academy
