ReadingMama1214
We have SOTW on Cd right now. We just started listening to volume 1 with my almost 5yo. We listen while driving and she enjoys it so far. I have 1 audible credit I am hoping to use on something similar to SOTW but better for younger students. Ideally I would want it to be worth at least $15 so that it's a full credits worth. I've looked at A Child's History of the World. Any suggestions? Susan Wise Bauer
E. H. Gombrich, A Little History of the World. Doesn't go much past mid-century (of the last century, that is), but an entertaining one-volume world history. The Audible sample is just the preface, which is not even part of the original and is all about the writing of the history, not the history itself. Check out the Google book sample for a better sense of the style. http://www.audible.com/pd/Teens/A-Little-History-of-the-World-Audiobook/B002VA9EC2 https://books.google.com/books?id=N2C6BAAAQBAJ&printsec=frontcover#v=onepage&q&f=false

I looked at that one as well. The only downside is that it's only $10, so it's not a full credits worth. That is definitely on my to-buy list though. kalusignan
You might like Joy Hakim's A History of US series. This is book 1. So far, we've listened to books 1-3 over the past 2 years, and we've been enjoying it.
ondreeuh
I'd get CHOW. Another option is to get something like A Little History of Science (philosophy, religion) that looks at history through a different lens.

ondreeuh
I think so- we listened to at least half of it this summer, and I don't recall it being from a religious POV. We are secular homeschoolers, and if it had been obvious I would remember, Lol
