Her spokeman said she was speaking sympathetically. Seems incredibly mean spirited to me.

 

 

 

I read every word of it, and while individual bits do seem cruel, I think the overall message was sympathetic and thoughtful. She could have cut a few sentences and reworded a few things, and her message would be better received.

ETA: This is the funniest thing I've read all day:

 

The conservative press loves a good woman v woman – or "author v princess" – fight because it suggests that women are all hysterical girlies who can't be trusted with proper grownup issues because they'll start throwing tampons at one another.
