mama2cntrykids
Something to chew. Their teeth grow, so they need things to chew to file the teeth. My kids just got two piggies. We love them!
swellmomma
Our piggies loved having wooden chews scattered around their cage. A hideyhole is a must. Are you going to put the hay right on the bottom of cage or hang it from the side? if hanging it you will need a hay cage, nail trimmers to clip the toe nails regularily. Are you getting long haired or short haired? If long haired you will want a comb or brush for grooming so they do not get matted.
ProudGrandma
thanks for the suggestions...I have another quick question. We are getting our piggies from a friend. We are also getting her C&C cage, but I am planning on making ours a little bigger. So when I bring the piggies home, should I just keep them in their own cage or can I keep change them to their new cage right away? What I would have to do is put them in their old cage while I cut some more coroplast and prepare everything (hoping to only take a few hours), then transfer them to a tote for a short time while I build their new cage...but will that bee too stressful for them their first day here? thanks. Cindy in the NH Woods
Guinea pigs need lots of vitamin C, so I would pick up some parsley or dark leafy greens or fruit (mangos, apples, etc.) the next time you went grocery shopping. Have fun! http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?A=2750
