McLinda
I have been home schooling my gifted 9-year-old daughter for two years. I taught public middle school before having children. However, there was only one college course that covered the topic of "the special-needs child". Do any of you have any must-read suggestions? She is now at an 11th grade reading level and shows no signs of slowing down. ; ) Help!
Jen500
I found "Creative Homeschooling-A Resource Guide for Smart Families" by Lisa Rivera helpful.
danielle
Any of the David Albert books. I don't always agree with him, but he's caused me to think a lot. For most of the time we've hs'd (6 years now) we've been very structured and school-y. Mostly we've rejected an unschooling approach. But as we move into the high school years, I find myself incorporating a lot of his ideas. Perhaps different approaches work at different ages (certainly w/different kids!) One of these years (I have 4 yrs left!) I'll know how to homeschool :001_huh: Danielle
