blueberry
Saw a bunch of posts on this topic a while ago but cannot retrace them. Sorry if it's a duplicate. What are some great online writing classes for homeschoolers? Something that teaches students how to write well and has some relevance to the SAT essay (doesn't have to have that though). Thanks. Sunshine State Sue
While I haven't used these yet, I have seen very favorable reviews on these boards of Potter's School Advanced Composition and Laurel Tree Tutorials HS Composition. Maverick_Mom
do those classes help improve students' writing? can you speak from personal experience? My daughter has taken a year-long course from Write At Home, and I feel that it has helped her writing. But she has always been a good writer, anyway, so I can't say how dramatic an improvement there would have been if she'd been struggling. Jennifer in MI
We used Write at Home last year for a semester. It definitely helped my struggling 8th grade writer. But, we got an amazing tutor. I don't know if our experience would've been so good if we hadn't had her. We signed my current 9th grader up for the next class and requested the same tutor. Keeping my fingers crossed!!! Gamom3
We have used home2teach.com I had been happy with them until last year. My son took Research Writing from them and I was not happy with it at all! This year my son is using write4homeschool.com So far so good. 1Togo
2nd on the Bravewriter. Julie's timed writing course was excellent prep for ACT and SAT. I , as well as our son, learned so much about writing from Julie. Bonita
