Latin question

Recommended Posts

We are currently using Latin Primer 1. I also have Latin Primer 2 TE on my shelf from when I got it discounted (1/2 off) but no videos or anything else.

We will be done with Latin Primer 1 by middle of this summer. I am not sure what to do at this point. Should I continue on to Latin Primer 2 or go with something else that is easy transition to high school Latin? I looked into Latina Christina but I think the pronunciation is different than Latin Primer. I am not sure what to do. I am looking at Logos catalog and Memoria Press catalogs to get some idea of what to do.

HELP-

Holly

Did you know that Classical Academic Press is coming out with a new upper level Latin program? It's called Latin Alive - go to ClassicalAcademicPress.com and you can look at samples.

I'm in the process of switching Latin programs and I've been looking at this one seriously for my older dauighter, so I thought I'd share.

Well, we have Latin Primer I, then bought the videos at half price for II when they were switching to DVD format. My dd is going to finish Latin Primer II and move to Wheelock's. She's also doing Latin Grammar I (same company) and we have the Grammar II. I'm not at all worried about it. There's more to LP II than just memorizing chants and vocabulary, and I think the idea of doing that in the first one to get the vocabulary before doing the grammar is fine. I've done plenty of switching around in Algebra, and a couple of switches in other subjects, but I'm not going to switch everything! My kids like the instructor on the Latin Primer videos, and any Latin they have will help them when they get to Wheelock's (or Henle or whichever later program you plan to do).
