Help needed with math problem

Recommended Posts

Could anyone help my ds answer the following math problem?

TRM and KBV are similar triangles. The ratio of RM to BV is 3:2. What do you know about the relationship between TR and BV? Explain.

My poor brain is just not getting it right now.

Thanks for any help!

Cindy

This is a strange problem--but I've seen them before...

Since the triangles are similar, each pair of corresponding sides will have the same 3:2 ratio.

Mark RM=3 and BV=2

We do not know the actual measures of TR and KB... but we do know their ratio is 3:2 so TR=3X and KB=2X

BV is already marked BV= 2 so:

The ratio of TR to BV is 3X:2
