Faithr
I went to order the Lost Tools of Writing from Circe and had a tough time navigating through, creating an account, etc. (but I'm like that, very clumsy at this internet stuff!). Finally got to the end and they only take Mastercard!!!! What? I've never run into an online site that doesn't take Visa. Has anyone else had trouble ordering from Circe? This is my first time and I'm very put out with them! Is there another site that sells Lost Tools?
amyco
Hmmm...that is weird because I ordered from them last month and I used Visa without a problem. I agree their web store is not the most user friendly to navigate--in fact, it needs help. And not to hijack the thread, but I just this week tried to listen to the instructional CDs for LTOW and 4 out of 6 do not work in our CD player. I sent them an email a few days ago, haven't heard anything. I'll follow up with a call next week. That's another area that needs help--there's no clear email address for customer service. Only one for "orders" and "info." I understand they are a small company and getting ready for their conference, but still...I really, really want this program to work for us! mom2paul
After 3 weeks of waiting for my purchase, I contacted them and they apologized for the delay and processed my order. I received my items a few days later. However, I received another email about that time stating that due to a problem on their end, my Visa was never charged, and I wasn't the only customer who experienced this issue. I also found the website difficult to navigate. Hopefully they will clear up all of these issues.
Faithr
Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll wait on ordering LTOW.
happygrrl
I ordered in May and had no problems with the site or with using my Visa. I recieved immediate customer service from A. Kern himself! My items came promptly. The only thing I can think of is perhaps it is such a small company that the order/ customer service is handled by people who are at a conference. Capt_Uhura
I''ve listened to CDS 1-4 on the computer and in my car with no problem. Have you tried the CDs in another player? I know a friend mentioned she had some CDs which would only play on her good CD player but not her old cheap one. Not sure why.
amyco
Yup, we've tried every CD player in the house...some of them will work on the computer, but I don't want to be tied to the computer while I listen! If that were going to be the case, I'd prefer mp3 files that I could just put on my iPod. I am glad yours work!
Kalypso
I ordered at the end of May with a VISA and had no problems. Shippping was slow, but I received my order a fews days after emailing them about it. I haven't had any trouble with my CD's.
Capt_Uhura
I would definitely call them and have those CDs replaced!
amyco
Just wanted to bump this up and give an update--I do have a replacement set of CDs now, they were very gracious about getting one to me quickly (yay!), and I've started looking over the program and listening to the CDs. All I can say is, "Wow." I feel very encouraged about LTOW and am looking forward to getting started! In my complete layperson's opinion, the program looks much easier to learn and implement than CW while at the same time is more "specific" or concrete in methodology than the WTM way. My current plan is to start dd in LTOW and have ds use WTM methods until 7th or 8th grade. So...please don't be afraid to order from them. If you have a problem, just give them a call and I know it will be sorted out.
michmom
I ordered a few weeks ago and had no problems at all. I received everything promptly. I do appreciate your mentioning the CDs. Since it is summer, I have not rushed to review everything and now I am thinking I ought to take a listen and make sure my CDs work. As always, everyone on this forum is so helpful.
