nancypants
I can't believe that we've been married almost 11 years and have not taken a weekend getaway without the children ever (except for one work related retreat). Our honeymoon was the last real getaway. So we are already planning our (becoming annual) trip to California for July. Firstly we are going to visit with family of course and just enjoy my wonderful home state. I will always love California. Secondly, I'm hoping that I can go to at least part of the BlogHer conference, hoping that I might get to meet some of my favorite bloggers... I'm just hoping that Ree goes this year! :D Ree, I so want to meet you IRL! And thirdly my parents are going to watch the kids and pay half for a weekend getaway and let us escape to a bed and breakfast for two nights!! I am possibly more excited about this than I was about our honeymoon! ROFL :p So I chose a place last night and made the reservations. It's called The Old Thyme Inn. Is that not just the most quaint and well appointed place? Half Moon Bay is a special place to us too as it's one of the landmarks of our "love story." (Gosh, I'm starting to sound all sappy now.) I suppose dreaming and planning for the summer helps me survive the land of eternal winter! LOL Just wanted to share my excitement!
DKinTX
I love California, too! I'm excited for you. That inn looks SO gorgeous...the views are stunning! YAY for you, Nan! I hope you have a fabulous trip.
Amy in Orlando
No clue where you should go or what you should do. I'm jealous - what an awesome time you guys are going to have. Say "hi" to you and to "Ree" if you make it to Blogher.
DIY-DY
Oh, I would probably paralyze myself with excitement just thinking about running into some of my favorite bloggers at the BlogHer conference! That'd be right up there with the time a friend called me from a hs'g convention and the first thing she said when I answered was, "I GOT TO MEET STEVE!" I knew immediately she meant Steve Demme, and I was instantly envious. LOL @ being more excited than about the honeymoon - well, at this point in our lives, we don't take things like this for granted, do we? You should be excited! I'm excited *for* you!! WHAT FUN!!! Elisabeth in IL
I'm always glad when my dh and I get away by ourselves. We don't get to do it very often but when we do, it reminds us on why we fell in love in the first place. Enjoy your alone time together.
