Annie Laurie
I was going to get SSL for my k, 2nd and 3rd grade students next year. But I just read a thread that gave me the impression that it's almost not worth doing? It seems that SSL introduces some vocab while PL might have some grammar also? What program would you recommend for my age group? It doesn't matter if the ker keeps up, he's young so it's optional for him. chanda7
I have been doing Prima Latina with my 2nd/3rd daughter. We are doing it orally, focusing mostly on the vocabulary using homemade flashcards. My 4yo has picked up at least half of the vocabulary by just listening in. I don't have any experience with SSL to compare, though.
AudreyTN
I tried PL with a 3rd, 2nd and K. We all thought it was boring. Then we did SSL and they all loved it!! Maybe you could do SSL and then PL?
Jami
I haven't used SSL. But PL does indeed teach some grammar, the parts of speech. Which I think is a nice compliment to 2nd grade English grammar in books like FLL.
