LNC
I am loving A Shape of Mercy, by Susan Meissner. Has anyone read it? It won the Fiction of the Year award by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA). So, I got it from the library and it is the most absorbing fiction I have read in a long time. I love gentle and absorbing reads. Here is a website with a bunch of suggestions. http://www.cozylibrary.com/default.aspx?id=9 I have read Miss Read, the Harmony series and Mitford series. I like those but they aren't as absorbing as Meissner's work. I'll read more by her. Any other suggestions of authors or series? mom2abcd
Thanks for the Cozy Books link and the Meissner recommendation. Both look good! Some books you might enjoy: Gayle Roper's books... Amhearst Mystery series, Seaside Seasons series, Enough! Stephanie Grace Whitson... Prairie Winds series (I haven't read her others yet) Angela Hunt... Fairlawn Series (about life in a funeral home! Fun and edifying if you can believe it.) Allie Pleiter hs a couple of Love Inspired books that are fun reads: My So-Called Love Life and The Perfect Blend Lori Wick's books are really nice and she has tons of them. I'm looking forward to seeing more ideas and using inter-library loan for some on the blog. Thanks!
katalaska
a book called Circle of Grace about a month ago while I was away from home. When I got home, I ended up putting it on hold because I wanted to know how it ended. The author is Penelope J. Stokes; she has several other books I haven't read. Have no idea if that's along the lines of what you're looking for but I enjoyed it. :) Definitely "gentle fiction" in my definition...
