Poll: How much time schooling your middle-schooler?

How much time does your middle schooler (6,7,8 grades) work on school each day? Include all subjects and assigned reading, but not any reading they do for fun. Also, don't include extracurriculars like music lessons or sports.

My 6th grader's average for a week would be about 23-24 hours a week. She actually does school work and reading for about 5 hours on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Fridays are a little shorter.

Not more than 5 and generally not less than 4 for a full day with 5th and 7th graders.

We start at 8:30 AM and are done at noon.

When my boys were in middle grades, we generally schooled 6 hours M, Tu, Th, Fr. I let them do most of their book reading on Wednesday. It gave me a break in the middle of the week!

My 12 yo spends 6 hours M-Th and then about 3.5 on Friday.
