hsmommyx3
Both my ds & dd enjoy hands on science experiments. However, I am not very good at gathering the tools we need to do them I am looking for a program with substance, bright, vivid photos & that comes with a kit so that I have all the tools to do the experiments. Is this even possible? Does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking of A Reason for Science for my 3rd grade dd & Abeka 6 for my 6th grade ds. However, I am basing this only on things I have read online. There might be other Science programs that I am not aware of that would be better. TIA! Deana FL
These are wonderful subject specific courses from a Christian perspective. http://www.highschoolscience.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1 Then you can buy the science kit for each book that includes everything you need for every lab assignment. http://www.hometrainingtools.com/catalog/science-kits-for-curriculum/cat_kits-for-apologia-curriculum.html And if your kids are into the cut/paste crafty stuff, you can have them create a lapbook to go along with their daily lessons. http://liveandlearnpress.com/viewItems.php?category=18 Hope that helps... hsmommyx3
Thank you so much Deana! That looks wonderful and just what I am looking for! I didn't realize that Apologia was so in depth and had the kits to boot! I really appreciate it!
dirty ethel rackham
Noeo science can be purchased with the kits. It uses more of a living books approach. We have been very pleased with it so far. It uses the Young Scientist kits as well as gives a list in the teacher's manual of all the other materials you would need for the year.
