Pamela H in Texas Posted February 15, 2009 Share Posted February 15, 2009 I think it's just a matter of balance. I think most kids should be exposed to learning the capitals at some point. And I think it's a good exercise too for various reasons. But I don't think it's a failure of homeschooling to not have done it by a certain time or if kids don't retain 100% of it. AND if it did mean that, I think it also means that almost all other schools fail because the great majority of kids and adults do not know and retain the information on every state.
