MMinMN
I'm not familiar with the organization at all, so thought I would ask here. Are there any "length of membership" requirements that would prevent my kids from showing in our county fair if they did join this late in the game? sweetfeet
Most groups have their registration around Jan-Feb so you should be able to join for the year now and show at the fair in the summer. When I was doing horse projects you had to have the animal and project book selected by March 15th in order to do a project and show at the fair. -From a former 4-H'er and mom to a current Cloverbud. Mommyof4ks
In Texas the cut off date to join was in October I think for this year. Is the fair just a 4-H thing or can the community participate? We have a 4-H fair coming up in two weeks just for 4-H, but there are other fairs and such that anyone can participate in. For more info you can call your county extension office or go here http://www.4husa.org/'>http://www.4husa.org/'>http://www.4husa.org/'>http://www.4husa.org/ or here http://www.4-h.org. Registration starts around here in August.
mamaof2andtwins
We had to be registered in December. I am not sure what all the official rules are as this is our first year. I have one Clover Bud who is actually a junior in a Clover Bud group and a junior in a horse club. Jennie
katemary63
Okay, there is a misunderstanding going on here. There is no "cut-off" to join 4-H. You can join at anytime of the year. You may miss being able to do certain things during the year you join based on the date that you join, but there are always other things you can do including meetings and working on a project. It's not only about the fair. Join 4-H now! It's awesome.
