Latin for college student

Recommended Posts

My sister is taking Latin 101 this semester. I'd like to get her some DVDs or CDs to supplement her class. Any suggestions?

Readings from Wheelock's Latin may be useful, though Plaid Dad is correct. It would help to know what curriculum is being used. This is a 4 cd (audio) set using restored Classical pronunciation.

I'll have to ask her

She may find "Readings from Wheelocks Latin" useful even if she isn't using Wheelock's Latin. The discs include all the chants (declensions, conjugations, etc.) in the Wheelock textbook. The Wheelock textbook comprehensively covers all Latin grammar, so she may find it useful no matter what curriculum she is using. The pronunciation used is Restored Classical, recorded by a professional Latinist with expertise in Latin pronunciation. There are tracks on the first disc which teach proper pronunciation as well.
