Kendall
How long would you allow to read/discuss Pride and Prejudice? We are looking forward to doing this,I think we will do it last this year, and I want to allow plenty of time to enjoy it. If you have any general tips on doing this book or unique things you did I would love to hear them. Thanks, Kendall
LynnG in Arizona
I just did this with my daughter. We both read it (ok, we re-read it ;)) and then met maybe twice weekly to discuss several chapters. I personally used Spark Notes as my discussion guide. Even though I read it and understood the book well, Spark Notes made sure I was "hitting the high points" and also presented a different perspective on some issues than I would have come up with. We took around 3.5 weeks to do this. We're doing British Lit this year, and are doing a novel approximately every 3-5 weeks, depending on length and difficulty. Kendall
Thanks so much, Lynn. That gives me a ballpark idea on time and I'll use the Sparks notes. Edited December 19, 2008 by Kendall
