CamperMom
Hi All, I'm looking for a couple of options for southern California public charter schools for a friend's daughter. All ideas are welcome. Thank you for your help. CamperMom Edited July 6, 2020 by CamperMom
gck21
A lot of people I know use Sage Oak, so that is the only recommendation I have. The charter I use is not accepting any more students for 20-21. I would recommend getting applications in as soon as possible. The state education budget that was just passed based school funding on 19-20 attendance, and that had left charters (and other schools that are growing) scrambling. daijobu
Go to the FB group: CA Homeschool College Seekers. There are a lot of SoCal parents enrolled in charters, and charter representatives. I agree, there is a perfect storm now of parents enrolling in charters as a back up in case schools don't reopen, and the state legislature throwing funding into jeopardy which probably means less availability to students. Don't let the long wait lists discourage; get on them and eventually a spot should open up. It may not happen in September, but maybe later in the school year.
