ELaurie
TWTM suggests narrations in 3rd grade for reading, writing, history, and science. Ds 9 also does narrations in spelling (AAS). If we did all of them, this would be 5 or more narrations per week. Right now, he is doing three, on average. Handwriting has always been a major source of frustration for him; OTOH, doing narrations is a strength. I am currently doing all of the writing for him :tongue_smilie: I plan to transition him to doing more of the writing independently this year. I'm interested in knowing what others here are doing :001_smile:
frogpond1
don't do them all each week. We keep a minimum of 1 science and 2 history, but there isn't any magic formula.
Firefly
Narrations are a struggle for us. I usually do 1 history and 1 science narration a week, and sometimes FLL3 has a narration as well. If I feel like one particular week DD is not overwhelmed, we might do a narration on a book she's read (either on a science/history topic, or free reading). This is working well for us so far. Good luck!
runningirl71
We basically did the same as Firefly. 1 science and 1 history every week, for sure. When a book is finished being read, a narration is done on the book. These combined with daily copywork and a writing program was enough for us!
