Halftime Hope
of someone looking for their past, which in turn, helps them as they move into their future. The theme of ds' paper needs to have something to do with the past influencing the future. He is reading "The History of Love" and needs two other sources to compare or contrast or otherwise add to that theme. He came up with Les Miserables and we'd like another book that he doesn't have to read from scratch. :) It can also be poetry or a shorter work, not just a book. We're both drawing blanks tonight. Thanks!
Aubrey
Maybe TS Eliot's Four Quartets. Dh suggests Number the Stars, but I'm not sure it's highschool--might be jr high. I think there's an argument for To Kill a Mockingbird, but...kind-of a stretch. We're thinking, but between the theology & Dr. Seuss, it's been a while, lol. Aubrey
Great Expectations should work. Er...maybe. My problem is every character I can think of looking to their past comes out worse, lol. The Sound & the Fury. Oedipus Rex. Romeo & Juliet. Barn Burning. Bad past.
