iamonlyone
We just got home from a trip to Tampa, as our youngest and I tagged along with dh on his business trip there. On Saturday we went to the Chihuly Collection exhibit at the Morean Arts Center in St. Petersburg. It was breathtakingly gorgeous, and so interesting to watch the video of how they make these HUGE pieces of blown glass. For the month of June, home educators can see the collection for free, and can pay $5 per person for up to three other people. You do need to show some form of teacher's ID, and Florida educators had to show something specific. (I don't remember the details.) If you're down that way, we highly recommend it! http://www.moreanartscenter.org/chihuly/
umsami
Nice!! Thanks. If you're there, you might as well go to the Dali Museum too. :) Also... the Ringling Museum/Home is nice.
iamonlyone
The Dali Museum was on our list, but we got a late start, and the beach beckoned. Maybe another time. We did take time to stop by the gluten-free, non-GMO, nonprocessed etc. restaurant next door to the Chihuly Collection for a snack. We had their key lime pie, berry cheesecake, and turtles. Everything was excellent, the proprietor is personable, and the hanging swings in the front window are lots of fun!
