kristamaranatha
My kids have been in public school in the past. I absolutely hate common core math, but I was impressed with the common core writing requirements. PS are no longer accepting that kids are entering high school without a knowledge of how to write coherently, and my older kids actually learned basic essay-style writing in 3rd and 4th grades. Now that we are homeschooling, I would like to keep up with a rigorous but age-appropriate writing curriculum. Can anyone recommend such a program? Thanks! freesia
One thing I've used is Write Source materials. You can get old grade leveled books on Amazon and just work through the projects. Here is a link: https://www.amazon.com/Write-Source-Student-Hardcover-Grade/dp/0669518069/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1525984497&sr=8-1&keywords=write+source
Syllieann
Saxon, Sadler Oxford, and Evan moor offer common-core aligned curricula for writing. I *think* moving beyond the page is aligned, but I am not 100% certain. Even if they haven’t gone through to document it as such, I believe it does hit alll the requirements.
