Pam in MA Posted November 13, 2008 Share Posted November 13, 2008 We've been happily working through Latin Prep I, and are getting ready to order Book 2, but I'm trying to understand how "So You Really Want To Learn Latin" fits into the sequence. The first book looks like it covers alot of the same material in the Latin Prep, plus some more. What's the difference between these two series? LanaTron Posted November 13, 2008 Share Posted November 13, 2008 Here's my understanding, based on what I remember reading on these boards... Latin Prep 1-3 is equivalent to SYRWTLL 1-2. Peela Posted November 14, 2008 Share Posted November 14, 2008 My understanding is that Latin Prep is written for younger kids to start. They are basically two separate series and Latin Prep is more "fun" and aimed at a younger audience- but still a meaty program. I think you can do LP 1, 2 and 3 then SYRWTLL 3 to finish it off. I dont know how the entrance exams work. They are British programs catering to the British exam system. However if you want more experienced people to reply, like Laura, try on the Curriculum board.
