momto2
DS (going to be 5 next month) finished 100EZ. I was thinking about starting Funnix2. But the lessons are a little too long for him. I am thinking of placing an order for pathway readers. and doing those for a while until he is ready for funnix. I am planning on to get both the grade 1 and 2 readers. Do I need to get the workbooks as well? Or can I just do the readers without the workbook.
Kim in Appalachia
are mostly phonics and spelling instruction. If you want that then they would be helpful, but otherwise you can skip them. The phonics instruction will look nothing like 100EZ lessons.
Jenn Robinson
Mine read the books and enjoyed them! We did not do the workbooks b/c I felt like that would take some of the joy out of reading. (However, I was looking for them to read- not do phonics at that time.) If you want reading AND phonics they would be a great combination- but you don't NEED the workbooks to use the books! :001_smile:
