sbgrace
I have one child is using CLE LA for grammar. He's getting really solid grammar. I appreciate that CLE also includes work on things like punctuation and correct word choice (who/whom, lay/lie, etc.) and similar things I'm calling usage, though that may be the wrong word. My other son has special needs. He wouldn't tolerate, nor do I want to spend the time necessary to use, CLE LA. It's too detailed, too nit picky. I don't care if he can diagram. He writes well. But I want him to have basic, "necessary" grammar knowledge for any testing or just "need to know." I need something that's not too time consuming. Beyond that, I am wishing I had a resource for those usage things for him. Does such a program exist? He's 8th grade. Ellie
Easy Grammar (which of course will still teach things like when to use who/whom and punctuation, as the grammar determines which punctuation to use). There's no diagramming, though, or writing of any kind. It's strictly grammar/punctuation.
