klmama
I am considering using Derek Owens for prealgebra and higher levels, but I just came across MathHelp.com; it looks like it could be good, too. It used to be called YourTeacher.com. Has any here used it? Opinions?
SilverMoon
I've used it to take over math during busy summers. I'd use it for that purpose again if needed, but frankly my kids prefer Khan. Khan videos are higher interest but it doesn't have as much tracking for the teacher as Math Help. HSBC tends to run Math Help as a summer freebie. Last year I tried handing my mathy, math-liking kid Math Help. The very bland videos did her in; she didn't last a week. I do not consider Math Help a full program. It only required five problems done correctly to move onto the next concept and it didn't loop back to refresh old concepts. While that might be more than enough for some kids, it wasn't for mine. klmama
Thank you! That was very helpful. I wondered if the rest of the videos were as bland as the sample. We'll keep an eye out for it on HSBC, just for review.
