AnnE-girl
Dd has requested M&M cookies for one of the desserts for her First Communion celebration. I haven't made them since high school and I have no idea what recipe I ised. Does anyone have a good recipe to share?
umsami
I would use the one on the back of the bag. Those usually are the best. For me? I typically make a Toll House recipe and then just sub in M&Ms for the chocolate chips. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/10785/robbis-mms-cookies/
Cinder
I use the BH&G recipe: 1 c. butter, softened 1.5 c. sugar 2 eggs 2 tsp cream of tartar 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp vanilla 1/4 tsp salt 2.75 c. flour extra 1/4 - 1/3 c. sugar for rolling dough balls in Beat butter and sugar together, then beat in eggs, cream of tartar, baking soda, vanilla and salt. Stir in flour. Cover and chill 2-3 hours. (**TBH I don't bother with the chilling and just go straight to baking.) Shape into 1" balls and roll in sugar. Bake at 375F for 7-8 mins or until edges are lightly browned. (**I use a cookie scoop which makes larger cookies that take 9-10 mins to bake. I also flatten the balls slightly so they bake more evenly.) I've not mixed in M&M's with these but I don't see where it would be a problem to add them in. These cookies turn out nice and chewy as long as you don't overbake.
