coastalfam
This year we ventured away from something I like for LA to do something that worked for my 3rd grader who was struggling in writing. We are doing ELTL Level 3 and AAS Level 2 and 3, and the dictation/narration, focus on parts of speech, copywork, and rules of spelling (and good old time and maturity) have helped him catch up quite a bit. He is now able to write a paragraph easily, with few spelling mistakes. This has been a very time intensive investment that has paid off. I'm glad we did it. However, for next year, I would like him to have more independence in spelling, as I feel he is now capable, and I would like to broaden our LA a bit to something that includes more written expression, and less imitation/dictation. Any recommendations for programs that will translate?
