summerreading
I contacted the company to ask about starting a group buy but are there any going on now?
summerreading
I couldn't find one going on, so I am starting one. I need 50 people to be interested. If you'd like be included PM me your email. Once I get 50 people I will update through email with the next step, which would be sending out a code for you to use on their site (I'm not collecting anything). You can get up to 5 annual licenses for $10 (usual price is $100 for the year). ETA: They said we can buy up to 5 annual licenses for $10 per license. So if you want to buy a license for 2 apps, you pay $20. The normal price is $100/license/year. Once we have enough people then they will send me a purchase link with a code. I will then email it out to everyone who signed up. To make it easier I posted a Google form to collect emails. My email is on the confirmation page if you want to contact me (or PM here) I am trying to make it easy to send to friends, so I'll be updating the form with the group buy info. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe914OFSt2x0QTvpkk5lwsVzofLmKMra4IQBCMEefxQGSaFLw/viewform Edited January 17, 2017 by summerreading
arliemaria
I am interested, but how does the payment work? Is this $10 for a full year? We are about to try Learning Ally for my dyslexic son. I will go ahead and download the app to do the free trial.

It says publisher quality so I thought it would be the same as Audible. I know lots of people use Voice Dream but I haven't tried it yet. http://www.voicedream.com/ I just sent in our application for BARD from the National Library Service https://loc.gov/nls/bardnls/index.html and we'll see how that goes.
arliemaria
I have not heard of BARD. Also there is Minds Eye which reads newspapers and magazines. http://www.mindseyeradio.org/ What about Bookshare?

I looked at BARD, but it doesn't appear to accept a school professional evaluation or does it? My son's evaluation they did last fall/winter says Specific Learning Disability: Basic Reading Skills. My son's evaluation they did last fall/winter says Specific Learning Disability: Basic Reading Skills. You need an MD to sign the application. So I took my son's evaluation report to his annual exam and had his doctor sign it. The application for my state's library had just the option for "Reading Disability". I think you should be fine.
