HomeAgain
I'm looking around for a language arts curriculum for next year. I really like the look of ELTL, but after reading samples I realized we have already read the accompanying literature up through the third book. Would this hamper the program if we just didn't do the suggested reading? Also, does WWE move as slowly as FLL? Do they have to be used together? We dropped FLL 1 like a hot potato because neither of us liked it for 1st grade. Does it get better? He's getting to be a pretty strong in language arts thanks to what we've been using: copywork, Dictation Day By Day, narration, Grammar Land. I'd want to continue using a different grammar program (probably Simply Grammar), but do it every other year instead of every.
UCF612
You definitely don't have to read the books to do ELTL, at least not as far as we've gotten with it. The main reason to read the chapter before is to give context to the sentences pulled for grammar. At least in my opinion.
HomeAgain
That helps, thank you! I was slightly disappointed when I looked at the book lists!
