marbel
I'm trying to keep track of my carbs and, less importantly, calories. But I'm getting stuck on figuring out how to track my own recipes, and dealing with the tedium of entering ingredients for recipes for which I have nutrition information. For example, I made some bread this week. I used some white bread flour, mostly whole wheat flour, flaxseed, oatmeal, wheat germ... you get the picture. I've no idea how many calories or carbs are in there. I logged my piece this morning using a whole wheat bread that was already loaded onto the site, but I have no idea how accurate it is. (Though most likely my bread has more fiber and fewer net carbs than commercial bread, but I can't be sure of that.) Same with other recipes I made that I don't have specific nutrition information for. Even if I use a recipe that has nutrition information, it's so tedious to enter it. My family (including me!) doesn't like to eat the same things over and over Is there a site that is very easy and quick to enter recipes into? I am using the free Lose-it site on my desktop but I have no loyalty to it. Suggestions?
kiana
Cronometer is easy to enter recipes and easy to enter an old recipe and change stuff around. The free account is very useful. Or, if you've made your own bread once and done the calculations and the standard bread from the store is pretty close, just use the standard bread. Everything's an estimate anyway. I don't measure things like cream cheese frosting and just use a standard entry because I do it by eye, not by measurement.
