mooregen
I have a 9 year old just starting out on memorizing. I'm looking for some easy classic poems for her to memorize that emphasis character (patience, persistence, paying attention...). Does anyone have some ideas for me? Thanks. lanalouwho
Jenny Phillips curriculum 'The Good and the Beautiful' includes poetry that fits the bill. And it's free! http://www.jennyphillips.com/la/ Sent from my HTCD200LVW using Tapatalk
rose
I like to use the ambleside Y1 list of poetry for ideas. You can see it here: http://www.amblesideonline.org/Year1poems.shtml . They have a bunch more ideas for other years here: http://www.amblesideonline.org/Poets.shtml
Guest
The poems in living memory would do it I bet. http://www.rainbowresource.com/product/sku/049348/

I never ran across this curriculum, not that that it means much. :-) It appears to wrap up a bunch of LA aspects in ways that have intrigued me - but all in one place. Language Arts curriculum is the bane of my existence. This kind of looks like it might work and I might not have to think about it for awhile. Thanks for mentioning it! I actually heard about it here a few months ago. We've been using it a little, and I really like it. CLE and Cottage Press are both similar, in different ways.
