Pictures of lego models for 5yo boy

Recommended Posts

My son is constantly asking me to "assign" him something to build (ala Bob the Buidler gets jobs). I tell him to build a school, a truck, etc. I am running out of ideas and thought there has to be something out there with ideas. Believe it or not, I've searched and not found what I'm after. I just want pages of ideas that he could see the model and build. Duplo or regular lego bricks. We have both. Online site would be best, but if you only know of books, please list those, too.

I'm not interested in Lego Education just yet. Just pictures of age-appropriate things he can make.

Thanks!

If you click on a particular quest, there is a link to a post with pictures of how other kids did each building challenge.

This blog continued in the same idea, but pictures are more sparse:

We have Brick City in our house. It may be too advanced for a 5yo, but you could browse through similar books from there, like this one:

There are several books out there. You may want to see if your library has them. My kids loved them when they were your son's age and still love them now that they're older. Theres's

"The Lego Book" by Danile Lipkowitz

"The Lego Ideas Book" by Daniel Lipkowitz

"The Lego Play Book" by Daniel Lipkowitz

"Lego Awesome Ideas" by Danile Lipkowitz

"Totally Cool Creations" by Sean Kenney (this one is a three books in one kind of thing, you can find the separate books titled "Cool Creations in ... Pieces")

"The Lego Adventure Book" (Vol 1 - Cars/Castles/Dinosaurs, Vol - 2 Spaceships/Pirates/Dragons, Vol 3 - Robots/Planes/Cities)

Since you're looking for something online, this might be perfect for you! Lots of possible designs...We have a Lego Creator set with 800-something pieces, and so far my DD hasn't complained about not having a piece she wants. (I know almost all the Lego books contain structures that require very specialized pieces, which would be frustrating for my daughter, who is used to Lego kits where all necessary pieces are included.)
