Sahamamama
What resources would you suggest for a study of Comparative Religions (one year?) and Comparative Christianity (one or two years?)? This would be for 7th, 8th, 9th graders. These were my favorite elective courses in college, but I've often thought it would have been great to encounter some of that information and those ideas earlier in life. A few years ago, we met a group of young people who were visiting our church with their adult leaders. One of the leaders explained that they were from a local Lutheran church, and were conducting a comparative Christianity class. As part of their study, they were visiting various local churches with the tweens/teens. After each service, they would return to their church for a debriefing. We loved this approach and would like to incorporate it into our learning in a year or two. We'd also like a systematic study of other religions, as well as other expression of Christian faith. Any ideas are appreciated.
nansk
:bigear: The Teaching Company has several courses. I don't know anything about these but TTC is what I'd check first. deerforest
Yes--agree with Great Courses. This one might be even more approachable. It's more of an overview of major religions which might be easier at that age. We started using it around 5th grade.
