Free Indeed
My children and I need your creative ideas to come up with some sort of art project that has to do with Texas. I googled, and had a hard time finding anything. Do yall have some ideas? My kids are 5, 7,9, and 12. Thank you! :001_smile:
Amy loves Bud
Bluebonnets diffent types of land formations in TX (mountains, beach, forest, etc.) Endangered species in TX (horned toad, the turtle lady) Historical scene (Alama, San Jacinto, etc.) Something to do with the Lone Star (not beer!) some artwork that is similar to that of the Native Americans originally in TX Fiesta Take any of these and you could do painting, collage, mosaic, etc. Have fun! abbeyej
bluebonnets... My first thought (after "bluebonnets!") was since "everything is bigger in Texas"... you could do a a new map of the United States. You know how children's maps of the US have all the states and a small picture (or a few) of things associated with that state? What if you blew up the size of Texas -- to 3-4 times its usual size -- and filled it with drawings of things associated with Texas (bluebonnets, oil rigs, longhorns, cowboy boots, the Alamo, armadillos, chili, roses, etc, etc, etc), and then arranged smaller (to scale with each other) images of each of the other states, perhaps with one image each for them, around the comically large state of Texas? As if Texas "grew" (to the size it is in many Texans' heads;)) and sort of forced all the other states to rearrange themselves to make room for it? Donovans4
we actually have a postcard from Texas like the one Abbeyj described. It is a very clever idea. Since we have a lot of family in Texas (DH is from there), it hangs in a prominent spot on our refrigerator. LauraD in MN
