How do you print and bind vintage books?

Recommended Posts

I know I can just print, punch holes, and pop in a three ring binder, but does anyone have a method of printing/binding vintage materials in a sturdier format? I'm specifically thinking of printing books like the New Augsburg's Drawing in a way that is easy for kids to use, and will last through several kids. And what weight paper do you use to prevent seeing through if you print both sides?

I think these report covers make the printouts feel more like a book. I am not sure what their capacity is, though I would guess an inch of paper would be around maximum. You'd have to be sure that they were printed or photocopied with plenty of blank space in the gutter so the text isn't lost in the crease.
