mamamoose
Ds needs fact practice, but really wants more game like activities. Are there some good apps or online sites to improve this but are fun as well? I can make him do math facts but honestly, fun would be great--everything is such a struggle with him. gypsymama
There are lots of math games listed here on the Easy Peasy All in One Homeschool site: https://allinonehomeschool.com/math-facts-practice/ Math Playground has lots of games: http://www.mathplayground.com/math_monster_addition.html And this is a favorite. My kids LOVE this!!! It's set up like a RPG game. I like that I can set their grade level or even assign specific lessons myself so I know what they are working on. Very nice. https://www.prodigygame.com/
sweetpea3829
I'll second Prodigy. It's an awesome free game. The kids are drawn to it because of the gamified aspect of it. I love that I can go in behind the scenes and set assignments from a huge range of concepts, that they will then see during their game play. Or, I can let the game set assignments on it's own, which it does according to the ability of the student. It is very well done and very engaging. My kids have been playing since last October and have not lost interest at all. They often choose it above Minecraft...which is saying something, lol.
WahM
I third the Prodigy recommendation. It's a great game. I also love that I get to assign certain things I want my kids to work on.
mamamoose
Okay, so we are trying Prodigy. But...it doesn't seem to be allowing dd to make mistakes and then bumping her down in level? Or am I missing something. She's frustrated.
mamamoose
And, well, actually, can't get it to work at all. Now it says I don't have an account and they don't recognize my email.
mamamoose
When a problem shows up, and they try to enter a solution, it doesn't even work! So frustrated!!!!
sweetpea3829
What kind of device and which browser are you using? As for the email issue...if you contact their cust. support, they are pretty good about helping out. They don't have 24 hour staff, and aren't there on weekends, but if you get ahold of them today, you can probably have that cleared up by the end of the day. mamamoose
I have apple products, and have tried on both Firefox and safari.
sweetpea3829
I *think* there are some compatibility with certain iPads. But I don't have Apple at home and can't tell you for sure. You can ask at the Prodigy Forum: http://prodigygame.vanillacommunity.com/categories/troubleshooting Or...send a tech support request to their live chat right through your dashboard.
