TwoEdgedSword
I know that BYU Independant Study courses in high school can not count toward eligibility for NCAA athletics. What if a student takes them as "extras" i.e. the course and the credits are not needed to graduate? This doesn't DISqualify the student athlete, correct? MysteryJen
As long as those classes are not submitted as core course classes, it should be fine. The NCAA only cares about the 16 core courses and test scores.
TwoEdgedSword
Thanks MysteryJen. Do you know if there's a link to a list of online or non-traditional NCAA approved courses? I've been looking for quite a while and can't find one.
clementine
https://web3.ncaa.org/hsportal/exec/hsAction?hsActionSubmit=searchHighSchool For course information only, not curriculum/publishers. You can choose a state - doesn't necessarily have to be yours - and click on a school, click on all approved courses, and you'll get a list of titles of courses that are approved. You can then do some research on what a course like that would entail.
