So, my 8.5yo (used to be reluctant reader) is *loving* the Goddess Girls series by Holub & Williams (to the tune of staying up way late in bed reading). He's also liking Heroes in Training (same authors) which he rejected at the beginning of the school year because something was 'scary' a few pages into the first book (I think telling him this series is by the same author as Goddess Girls helped him get past that now).

I'm also going to try Grimmtastic Girls (same author) on him when they're not all checked out, but while the author is churning out a lot of books, at some point in the nearby future my son is going to catch up and have read all of them.

I'm not sure he's quite up for Riordan at this point, which seems a little darker and slightly harder than GG. Ideas?
