Although we haven't traveled to Canada often, sometimes it is nice to have the option to go for a quick weekend getaway (we live within 2 hours of the border). My question is, is it worth it to get her the enhanced drivers license at this time, since we don't have passports? Or just go with a passport in time...? Any concerns I should know about? Thank you! Concern is difference in drinking age...if teen is going to college near a crossing, some parents want to discourage traveling for partying and not give them a passport or enhanced. Yes, the thought occurred to me that it does make it easier to cross the boarder to drink. There is a college closer to the boarder, if she does end up going there...
