TN Mama
Gas was $4.99 here this am. I understand that stations have to pass along price increases to the public, but when a gas station's prices go up three times in one day - a day when no gas was delivered...??????? Wonder how long this will last.
melmac
Don't get angry with the gas stations, they're not the problem in all this. Most gas stations only make 10 cents a gallon on top of what they paid for it. So, if you're paying $3.49/gallon, the gas station paid$3.39/gallon.So after you factor in the electricity to run the pumps and the gas reader they're really not making anything (trust me I know). And they have to be able to pay for the next load of gas after they sell what they have on hand. This can be disasterous for them in a number of scenarios, whether gas goes up or down. It's the government and the futures traders running this game.

Rose in BC
Still holding here at $1.375 at 6 a.m. Saturday. It's Sunday a.m. and in my area all the pumps have increased to aprox. $1.51/litre.
Heather in the Kootenays
Finally on Saturday afternoon - up to $1.42. I'm not sure why it was so slow here. Perhaps because we're only a few k from the nearest US station which is MUCH cheaper.
