JMe
We've really enjoyed using the Real World Math (a.k.a. Math Adventures) by Wendy and David Clemson. But I can't find anything as interesting for our middle-school boy. He's 11 and it'd be nice to have something fun like that to do just once a week to break the monotony for him. Any ideas? Kareni
He's 11 and it'd be nice to have something fun like that to do just once a week to break the monotony for him. Any ideas? You might consider a once a week logic puzzle day using resources such as Balance Benders from Critical Thinking Company. MindBenders Logic Links from MindWare. There are four book levels, A through D. There is also a boxed set of puzzles. That link is here. All of these are fun but would also prove valuable in strengthening his thinking skills for upcoming classes in Algebra and Geometry.
