dcjlkplus3
My dd7 was very excited to finish the last 2 pages of her 1st grade math book, but... only if she could start her new one (2nd grade). I thought, sure why not, who cares if I'm not ready, the beginning is review anyway. The problem is that then her little sister wants to start her Kindergarten book. I did not want to do school today! Just a spelling placement test and those last two pages from the math book! I'm only mostly ready to start the year (we are starting on Monday), but I am not really ready. I hate saying no to school though. I told them to let me think about it during quiet time (now). Is it horrible that I am hoping she changes her mind during quiet time?
Alana in Canada
Not at all. I sort of feel like this every morning! But, unfortunately, you can't really say "No" just yet. Otherwise, if the kids don't feel like it Monday, they'll parrot back to you whatever you said! (Ask me how I know this.) Can you do something like one page each--and only the math? dcjlkplus3
Yea, yea, yea... Be a good example, I know. We'll see how they are doing this afternoon. We probably will get started.
