But after comparing the scope and sequence for Singapore Standards 6 and Math in Focus, they are significantly different and I don't know if that is the direction I want to go. I've also seen the WTM Academy class and I think it is too much on the AoPS side to work for us for next year. Is there anything that covers the material in Singapore 6 and focuses on those middle school math topics? Would Derek Owens Pre-algebra cover essentially the same topics? Tsutsie Posted March 26, 2015 Share Posted March 26, 2015 I emailed the ppl at AoPS, and I've heard back that they are planning a slower paced course starting in September. That might be an option for you. I don't think a child that has done well with Singapore 5 will have to much of a problem with the Pre-Algebra book.
