MommyX8
I can't find any reviews that are not from TOS from 2010 no less. And even free curriculum couldn't guarantee a good review. Anyone?
PineFarmMom
My high school age son is using it in a co-op setting. He is using the essay course. It has been great for him. He has grown a lot in his writing abilities this year, and his confidence for college writing. We live somewhat near the creator of the curriculum, and we have several friends who use it for their elementary aged kids on up through high school. I have not used the lower levels though I have considered it. I have heard nothing but great things from the friends I have who use it. It is very thorough.
TKDmom
I tried it. Not a big fan. I got Sentence to Paragraph and Creating Sentences. The kids had fun with some of the activities. Like at the beginning they did these cute little alphabet poems on a theme of their choice. My dd also really liked one essay in particular that talked about the origins of the word "OK". She still refers to it on occasion. But after several weeks, it seemed very formulaic and I couldn't keep going with it. I got so sick of StP telling my dd to use gerunds for every single verb--that's not even good writing, IMHO. We need variety in our writing! I think the curriculum could work well for parents and children that like a very methodical approach to writing. Unfortunately, that's not us. We get bored easily.
